Based on the simple premise that you don't know what you can do until you know what you have got, the first task BFRS set itself was an audit of what made the Scottish Borders Region rural economy 'tick' in addition to
 
 
  farming and forestry.This painstaking audit took two and a-half years to complete, the reports for which can be downloaded below. This and the organisation's other projects and activities fulfill its aims with the primary objective of keeping the families and communities of land managers thriving in the Scottish Borders.
